Washing facilities: Two showers, two wash cubicles, plenty of toilets. The facilities were kept clean and bug-free. There were also good dishwashing and laundry rooms, and how often do you get to peel your veg next to a racecourse’s stable block?

WiFi access: No
Green credentials: None specifically
Nearby attractions & views: Apart from being based on the grounds of Fakenham Racecourse, the site is very well placed for anyone wanting to explore Norfolk. It’s around 10 miles from the coastal town of Wells-Next-the-Sea, half way between Kings Lynn and Norwich and is within reach of the Norfolk Broads. The town of Fakenham has a number of pubs and restaurants, a bowling alley and cinema and there is a fresh produce market every Thursday.
Online booking available: Yes
Cost per pitch: For camping, from £3.50 - £6 per person per night. Please check with site manager for exact charges.
General feedback: The site was well maintained with generously spaced pitches. Staff in the reception were friendly and helpful and the on site bar was well stocked and very good value. I’d be happy to recommend this site to anyone looking for a base in Norfolk.
