Camper’s Sausage and beans
The ‘What’
750g Chipolata sausages
Chutney
Knob of butter
1 onion, chopped
425g tin baked beans
100g tomato puree
100g cheese, grated
Salt and pepper to taste
The ‘How’
Cut the sausages in half lengthways and spread the surfaces with chutney. Close the sausages together again.
Melt the butter in the pan and add the onion, cooking until soft.
Add the sausages, cooking carefully until brown
Add the beans, tomato puree and salt1 and pepper, cover and simmer for 15 minutes
Sprinkle the cheese on top and continue to cook until cheese has melted.
Serve.
